Massage Treatments

If you’ve never had a professional massage before, our suggestion is to go with the Blended Massage Treatment. This is our choice for you because it combines both aspects of the Classic Swedish Treatment (for mind-body relaxation) and Deep Tissue Treatment (for varying levels of muscular issues). This is by far, our most popular treatment especially with working individuals as there is plenty of time to adjust the proportion (between Classic Swedish and Deep Tissue) to suit your requirements.

Light-touch is provided for all treatments except Deep Tissue.

Which treatment you choose is dependent on whether you have muscular problem you want fixed or simply a mind-body wellness relaxation treatment.

If you like a mind-body relaxation treatment, choose Classic Swedish Treatment as it moves between light to medium touch. Note that this doesn’t go deep enough to treat muscular issues.

If you can go a little deeper, the you could go with Blended Treatment as it offers a blend of Classic Swedish and Deep Tissue. Note that you should advise us on your preference during enquiry and booking that you do not want heavy touch.

If you have immediate aches and soreness you want fixed, our advise is to go for a Deep Tissue Treatment with a longer duration.

You will notice the difference in the first treatment, however for existing aches and soreness, we do recommend at multiple treatments, to ensure that we go beyond the ‘superficial fix’. Usually 90 minutes is our standard recommended duration for Deep Tissue Treatments.

However, here are 2 important considerations:

1) If you’ve NOT had a deep tissue for a long time,
or, you’re NOT used to a bit of pressure,
or, you LIKE a bit of relaxation as well,
we highly recommend the Blended Treatment of 95 minutes (or longer) as that incorporates the Classic Swedish and Deep Tissue into your session and there’s a more fluid, relaxing aspect to the Deep Tissue component. Please bear in mind, the actual Deep Tissue duration is only about 70% of the entire length of treatment – so a longer duration is advised if require longer Deep Tissue work.

2) If, you can take a bit of pressure,
or, you want us to go through the muscles more thoroughly,
or, your issues span across your upper and lower bodies,
or, you think you might have more issues that you realise,
or, you have only 1 chance to come and see us for a session,
or, you can’t take too much pressure/heavy touch,
or, your body is always tense,
or, you have massive chronic issues,
or, you just want a longer time,
then go for a longer duration Deep Tissue Treatment of 90 minutes (or longer)

A longer duration simply allows us more time to slowly (gradually) work into the affected areas.

Firstly, let us reassure you that throughout your treatment we use a numbering system to let you to control the pressure.

Clients desperate for a good massage will experiment with different massages. And unfortunately, this will often results in certain situations where undue pressure will be used by inexperienced, insensitive, or over-exuberant therapists.

One of the biggest factor in feeling pain after your treatment is the treatment duration chosen vs how much work you require being done. Let us explain. Ironically, the lesser time there is to work on an issue, the less comfortable the treatment could be because it takes time to slowly ease into the deeper layers of muscle that is often the cause of problems you experience. This is why we always recommend a longer duration (which is also more cost-effective as reflected in our pricing), so that you allow time for your body to allow us to delve deeper into the underlying layers and issues.

If you have any preference, please let us know during your consultation or even on your enquiry form.
Simply tell us what you’re uncomfortable with, whether it be head, feet, calves, neck, etc.

Remember, we are here to help! So anything that can help us make you more comfortable, do let us know.

We will note everything on your file. So rest assured, at anytime during the treatment, you may always instruct the therapist of your comforts and contra-indications.

If this is your first time with us, we would usually recommend the Blended Massage Treatment, simply because it offers the best of both worlds (from Classic Swedish relaxation to Deep Tissue Treatments). This enables you to enjoy both differences.

However, if you are only concerned about fixing your issues, and really do not want a relaxation dimension to your treatment, then we advise that you select a Deep Tissue treatment. Note that Deep Tissue treatments are generally more one-dimensional because it is only focused on fixing.

Your first Deep Tissue treatment should be a general Deep Tissue treatment of at least 90 minutes. Thereafter, you should discuss with your therapist to see which of the more specific Focused Deep Tissue Massage Treatment you require (which is sometimes CHEAPER!).

Focused Deep Tissue Massage Treatment includes
Upper Legs,
Lower Back,
Entire Back,
Legs,
Foot,
Calves

Mini Add-ons are additional mini treatments that you can add to any main treatments. They provide additional time and focus on other areas you require.

Each Mini Add-on is a full mini treatment on its own. This means there is a choreographed ‘start’ and ‘end’ for each of the segment.

The Mini Add-ons are:
abdominal/stomach (15 min),
chest (15 min),
arms (10 min),
feet (15 min),
calves & achilles (20 min),
upper legs, thighs, IT band, glutes (25 min).

There are 2 types of Deep Tissue Treatment:
General and Remedial-focused

Our Deep Tissue Massage Treatment is certainly one of the best around the world. This treatment tackles muscular issues using various techniques. This touch ranges from medium to heavy. Prices start from $45 and duration can go up to 3hrs!

On the whole, the go-to duration is 90 minutes or 120 minutes.

The longer duration actually gives the body time to allow the therapist to ease into the deeper layers of muscle – thereby making the treatment much more comfortable because of the gradual easing that occurs. A shorter duration does the complete opposite and is often not recommended as that doesn’t give time for the body to release, which means that the superficial (top) layers of muscle will bear the brunt of the pressure, which can result in a drastic reduction in the comfort levels.

Once-upon-a-time, this was exclusive to day-spa retreats, and we thought that such an amazing ritual should be widely available for people to de-stress!

If you like a soft-touched, mind-body wellness relaxation, then this is for you.

Our signature highly ritualistic and choreographed treatment begins with warm cleansing wipes to the feet, followed by a luxurious inhalation of Sodashi Wholeness aroma blend of Jasmine, Mandarin and Vanilla.

As we move through multiple warm compression through your upper back, an application of aromatic blend of Fijian Noni Oil, other essential oils and organic almond oil with beeswax is applied with soothing hand movements through the legs and upper body. These oils work into the muscle and soft tissue to provide relief from stress and tension.

It finishes with an application of Exclusive spa blend of Hawaiian Kukui oil working into a relaxing shoulder, neck and head massage to Beethoven’s Moonlight Sonata.

Note: To give it ‘fix-it’ dimension, see the Blended Treatment option, or add other Mini add-ons to your main treatment.

Our most popular treatment combines all the elements of the Classic Swedish Massage Treatment with the Deep Tissue Treatment for a luxurious blend into one session starting from 1hr 35min / 95min up to a 120min session.

Deep Tissue component
This ‘fix-it’ component is inserted between the Classic Swedish start and end. Unlike physiotherapists and other massage therapists, we maintain a cohesive fluidity during the entire duration of the massage even as it moves through the Deep Tissue component. This means the Deep Tissue is still extremely relaxing with long-strokes. Typically, because the Deep Tissue component is only a 60% part of a larger Blended Treatment, we don’t go extremely deep nor have the time to do a full DT treatment that encompasses every issue. (If you require a longer DT component during a Blended Treatment massage, we recommend moving from a 95 min to 120 min Blended Treatment session – this gives us a larger DT component of about 90 minutes.)

Before choosing a Remedial-focused Deep Tissue, we always advise clients to go with a General Deep Tissue first.

The General DT goes through most of the back and/or legs and gives a general treatment to all these areas. This is particularly useful if you want a whole body work through or haven’t done a General DT before.

The Remedial-focused DT is sometimes recommended by your therapist after having done a General DT.

This is a specifically focused session to bring Deep Tissue work into a target segmented area. This is especially useful for people diagnosed previously with certain muscular groups that need tending to such as athletes, runners, bodybuilders, sports-related conditioning etc.

In addition to Remedial-focused DT, clients can always choose certain Mini Add-ons for shorter additional treatments which spans a greater variety.
