Where Science Meets Sensitivity

Founded by Dan G., Massage Therapy on Elizabeth brings the precision of anatomical science and the intuition of music into every treatment.

A graduate in both Science and Music, Dan studied Composition, Conducting and French Horn. While studying in New York, he played French Horn with the New York Youth Symphony and later various conducting roles with across opera companies across Italy, Germany, France, Belgium, Spain, Japan and the USA.

His transition to therapeutic work stems from a childhood injury and the same pursuit of harmony in orchestration – understanding how the body’s fascia, structure and rhythm interconnect.

During the 2020 lockdown, Dan shared live piano sessions on YouTube to help clients de-stress – a small reflection of the clinic’s belief that healing begins with atmosphere and intention.

Founded by Dan G., combining anatomy and music to create fascia-focused massage therapy in Launceston.

A moment from our ‘Calm in the Chaos’ live lockdown sessions – where wellness isn’t just about massage, stretching or strength, but a good state of mind.

Clinical Precision, Artistic Sensitivity.

Dan holds BSc, BMus, Dip Remedial, Dip ABRSM and is completing advance certification in Anatomy Trains Structural Integration.

Each session merges evidence-based structural understanding of the body’s interconnectivity with the intuitive sensitivity of a musician’s ear and hand. We are proud of the level of precision, refined presence and detail, hard to come by in modern practice.

Dan was exceptional. I haven’t felt such release in some places in years. After two failed massage attempts on our trip, Dan was a rare find and my wife and I are grateful for his care and treatment as well as recommendations. Thanks Dan.

I got a massage from Dan a little while back. Dans Fascia work around my shoulders and neck has given me more relief than I've had in the decade or more long journey trying to get help. Dan also discusses prevention rather than treatment and explains what is happening. Amazing work, I will be going back soon for sure.

Went in to get massage on lower back when talking, he new straight away it was my hips not back. As where you have pain sometimes steams from other issues. Great work, and advise. Also gave excericses to do, which will help heaps. Great experience highly recommended.

Absolutely amazing! Have had pain in my right side for four years and operation after operation to find the cause with nothing conclusive. Dan worked on the area and it was the first time in four years that I have been pain free! He checked in with me about pain thresholds and what pressure to apply, told me practical solutions, such as mat Pilates, to help keep the pain away and strengthen the muscles. Dan was so lovely, he fit both myself and my partner in at short notice and worked on my partners old injuries, giving him relief. Cannot thank Dan enough! It is now day 2 of seeing him and still no pain! I feel amazing for the first time in a long time. Thank you Dan :)

Suffering TMJ and bursitis in my shoulder, I was hopeful for some relaxation at most. After my remedial massage I could move my arm further than I have in a year, and my my jaw had improved enough I could eat food today! I actually shed tears after my appointment, the relief was immediate. So grateful for Dan's expertise, wonderful therapist, (can't say the same for his dad jokes) 😆 but will definitely be back.

Dan was fantastic. He was professional, knowledgeable and really listened to what I needed to ensure the optimum benefit from my massage. If only I lived in Launceston, I would become a regular client, for sure!

FAQ

How do I choose the right treatment and duration?

It helps to ask yourself, “What do I want to achieve when I leave the treatment?”. Do you want to feel fixed (Remedial or Deep Tissue); relaxed mind and body (Blend Treatment); or just pure relaxation (Swedish Treatment). Each treatment achieves a different purpose – calm, relief or postural change. The length simply allows us to work/address more areas within your allotted session. See all Treatments.

I want relaxation but also strength – what should I book?

Choose Blended. It merges Swedish flow with Deep Tissue precision – your best of both worlds! See Blended Treatment.

I have been/am going to physiotherapists or chiropractors – what should I do?

Boost your physio/chiro treatments with a Remedial massage session with a greater portion of Fascia & Postural Focus added on: this brings an element of fascia work that has regularly been missed by other healthcare professionals – this often jumpstarts your recovery, you’ll be amazed at the results!! See Fascia & Postural Focus.

What is fascia work, and do I need it?

You know when people say about the body, “everything is connected”. Well, introducing Fascia: the interconnective web that actually shapes your entire body and posture. Think of your treatment approach, less from a ‘specific muscle’ problem, to a perspective where ‘everything is connected’ – this very connectivity is bound by 12 fascia bands that runs throughout your body. By reading your body, we find underlying fascia imbalances and look at a solution/plan that also works into your current concern with your body (the aches that you’re experiencing). The result is often, pains that just go away for a very very long time. If your session is a Remedial and long enough, we often complement this with suggestions of exercises you can do (or referral to physio) to support your change, at home. See Fascia & Postural Focus.
